About
When I discovered flower farming a whole new world opened up to me. I’ve always loved growing vegetables, but I really found my passion with flowers.
In 2010, I graduated from film school with a cinematography degree, and moved to Atlanta, GA with my boyfriend (now husband) and the rest was history.
For the next 10 years, Alex and I built careers in the music and film industry in and around Atlanta. But 2020 brought our industry to a complete stop.
Encouraged by family and friends, I started a small business designing vegetable gardens and running a small blog covering everything from gardening, crafts, and cooking. I really loved working on the blog and I loved teaching people to garden, but when the film industry came back after the pandemic, I let my side hustle fall to the back burner.
Just two short years later, our beautiful son, Leon was born and I found myself once again returning to the garden. This time flowers called to me.
I started to sell my flowers to local florists, family, and friends. Next thing I knew, I had a budding enterprise.
I joined the Georgia Dahlia Society in 2023 and showed my flowers in their first flower show since the pandemic. Unbelievably to me, I won two ribbons for my dahlias. I always thought my flowers were beautiful, but to win an award I finally felt justified for all my hard work in the garden.
This year I’ve dived deeper into growing flowers I’ve never grown before. I’ve expanded my dahlia patch, and have dedicated a large portion of the yard to growing and hybridizing dahlias. You could say dahlias are my favorite flower!
It’s hard work, maybe even longer days than days in the film industry. But I love it and I love seeing the joy a bouquet of flowers brings someone, because I’ve felt nothing but joy in growing them.
